Ground Down

A while back due to lust, massive crush, butterflies, whatever you want to call it, I found all of my energy in my heart and chest. Butterflies in your stomach is fun, but when it turns into energy and pressure in your chest I think that’s called anxiety. Luckily I had an acupuncture appointment later that night, I told her my story and asked if she could just move my energy down and… she did! If you haven’t done acupuncture before… they can basically do anything and it’s pretty incredible. The next day I went to plan my weekly yoga class at work and kept thinking about rooting down and grounding into the earth. I was lucky to have my acupuncture appointment, but yoga was there waiting! I know this is yoga blog but I really do believe the endless elements of yoga help us through life— through the highs, the lows, the good butterflies, and the anxiety. I love starting my classes in a really comfortable seat with either shins or sit bones rooting down onto the mat or a block. Feeling really comfortable and rooting down to lift your crown a little higher. And finding comfort in just being there and breathing. Rather than jetting to acupuncture I think next time I’ll sit.
